Competence

For more than 25 years I have been successfully supporting listed, entrepreneur-run companies in transforming digitalization into profitable growth and value creation. For me, growth and profitability are not incompatible opposites as well as entrepreneurship and corporate requirements.

As a long-standing managing director and CFO of the strategic investment holding company Axel Springer Digital, I helped to build up Axel Springer's digital investment portfolio between 2005 and 2017, thereby providing significant support for the company's successful digital transformation. Today, the investment portfolio with more than 150 direct investments, including majority holdings, minority investments, accelerators and VC funds, contributes today more than 80% of the Group's operating income and is the main driver behind the successful transformation to the leading digital publishing house in Europe, which was accompanied by growth in revenues, returns and enterprise value. Axel Springer is considered a pioneer in the digital transformation and is the subject of numerous case studies (including two of Stanford University). 

Since 2017 I have been able to successfully apply these experiences and success factors in numerous consulting projects in other companies and industries, especially in the areas of corporate venturing and corporate venture capital, in which I am one of the leading experts.

However, I am not only familiar with periods of growth, but have also experienced several crises and accompanied restructurings.
